Engagements, priced by the phase

Six ways to work with us, one standard: a written scope, a fixed price per phase, acceptance criteria and a system you own.

Architecture & Roadmap Sprint

Two to four weeks that turn a mandate into a plan you can price, staff and build.

What you get

  • Current-state assessment of systems, teams and constraints
  • Target-state architecture with the trade-offs written down
  • Decision records for every significant choice
  • Risk register with owners and mitigations
  • Phased build plan with a fixed price on each phase

Take the plan and build it with anyone, including us.

Platform Build

New platforms, SaaS products, portals and internal tools, delivered as shippable stages you accept one at a time.

What you get

  • A milestone plan with a price and acceptance criteria per stage
  • Working software at every checkpoint, deployed to your environments
  • Identity, CI/CD and environments in place from the first milestone
  • Tests and documentation delivered with each stage, not after
  • A handover package: architecture, runbooks and knowledge transfer
Pricing
Milestone-priced · Priced per scope
A modern multi-tenant platform typically lands around $50k, depending on scope. Each phase gets its own price in the plan.
Typical timeline
3–6 milestones over 2–6 months

You see working software at every checkpoint and can stop at any milestone.

Identity, Integrations & Data Flows

Enterprise sign-in, third-party APIs and the event pipelines between them, built to be observed and maintained.

Covers

  • Enterprise SSO: Microsoft Entra ID, OIDC and SAML, Clerk and Auth0
  • Third-party API and webhook integrations
  • Event-driven pipelines: queues, service bus, serverless functions

What you get

  • Integration design with failure modes and sequence diagrams
  • Connectors with retries, idempotency and dead-letter handling
  • SSO configuration, role mapping and session policy
  • Monitoring, alerts and a runbook for each flow

Fixed scope · Priced per scope
Typical timeline
2–8 weeks per integration set

Cloud & Engineering Foundations

The repository, environments, pipeline and observability a team builds on for years, set up once and documented.

Covers

  • Azure
  • AWS
  • Infrastructure as code
  • CI/CD
  • Observability

What you get

  • Repository structure, branching model and code-review rules
  • Dev, staging and production environments as infrastructure as code
  • CI/CD with quality gates: tests, type checks, security scans, preview deploys
  • Observability: logs, metrics, alerts and dashboards
  • A reference implementation your team extends

Applied AI

Agents, retrieval and embeddings inside real products, with the evaluation and guardrails that make them shippable.

What you get

  • Use-case assessment and an evaluation plan before any model is chosen
  • Retrieval and embedding pipelines sized to your data
  • Agent or feature implementation with scoped tool permissions
  • An evaluation harness with cost and latency budgets
  • Documentation and handover

A defined monthly capacity for review, governance and care of the systems we built.

Covers

  • Design and code review
  • Architecture governance and decision records
  • Ongoing care for systems LevelUp built: updates, monitoring, fixes
  • Priority response

What you get

  • A named reviewer and architect your team can reach
  • Review notes and decision records you keep
  • Updates, monitoring and fixes for the systems we built

Pricing

How pricing works

Three models. Every engagement gets a written scope and a number before work starts.

Fixed-scope

One deliverable, one price, agreed before any code. Best for architecture sprints, integrations, SSO and engineering foundations.

Milestone

Larger builds split into shippable stages, each priced and accepted separately. You see working software at every checkpoint and can stop at any of them. Best for platforms, products and portals.

Retainer

A flat monthly capacity for review, architecture governance and care of systems we built. Cancel anytime; you keep everything.

FAQ

Common questions

How do you price a project?

We scope it in writing first: goals, users, constraints and what done means. Then we split it into phases, put a fixed price and acceptance criteria on each, and you approve the plan before work starts. You pay for phases you accept. The sprint exists so that even large or uncertain systems can be priced this way.

What happens if the scope changes mid-build?

Anything outside the written scope is priced as a change order before it is built. You approve it or you don't. The price of the phase already agreed does not move.

Who does the work?

The person who scopes your system designs it and builds its foundation. There is no hand-off from a salesperson to a separate team, and you talk to the engineer throughout.

Can you work alongside our existing engineering team?

Yes. Foundations engagements exist for exactly that: we set up the repository, environments, pipeline and a reference implementation, then your team builds on it. Retained engineering keeps a reviewer and architect available after that.

Do we own the code, the infrastructure and the accounts?

Yes, from day one. Code lives in your repositories, infrastructure in your cloud tenants, and every account is in your name. Documentation is a deliverable, so a handover never depends on us.

Can we stop after a milestone?

Yes. Every milestone ships working software and its own documentation, so stopping at any checkpoint leaves you with something you can run and extend.

How do you handle sensitive data and compliance requirements?

Security- and compliance-aware by default: least-privilege access, secrets kept out of code, audit trails where they matter and careful handling of personal data. Specific requirements from your industry or your security team go into the scope as acceptance criteria.

Do you still build small-business websites?

Yes. Small-business websites have their own page with two published plans: a one-time build with a year of hosting, or a monthly plan with SEO, AI search and development hours included.
